Coverage Terminology

  • Business Crime Insurance – Stand-alone, contract driven policy which covers, primarily, employee theft and losses from burglary, computer fraud, and other business crimes committed by employees and third parties.
  • Business Income Insurance – This business interruption insurance helps to replace lost revenues, covered property damage (such as fire or theft), and certain expenses when faced with shut down or relocation. 
  • Business Owners Policy – BOP – A package policy that gets you up and running. It combines basic property and liability insurance to protect a business from physical damage, lawsuits, and other risks. 
  • Commercial Auto Insurance – Also known as fleet insurance, this covers the vehicles your business owns, operates, or leases in the company name. 
  • Commercial General Liability Insurance – CGL – Covers costs related to injury at your place of business or resulting from product or service usage and protect businesses from claims related to harm caused by AI-enabled products or services
  • Commercial Package Policy – CPP – Meant for larger companies, a CPP combines commercial property and general liability insurance with additional types of policies to provide customized coverage. Please note: Directors and Officers Liability D&O, Health or Disability, Workers Comp, or Life Insurance policies must be purchased separately.

  • Equipment Breakdown – Covers losses due to malfunction of HVAC, electrical, communication, and other equipment. 
  • Errors and Omissions – E&O – This professional liability insurance protects your business from lawsuits related to professional services and can help cover court costs or settlements. NOTE: Prior actions NOT covered. 
  • Generative AI-Specific Endorsements – Specialized insurance policies designed to protect companies which develop generative AI models.   • IP Infringement Coverage – Protects businesses from the financial risks of intellectual property disputes, copyright and patent violations, even as they pertain to AI training data or outputs. It covers legal defense costs, settlements, or damages if accused of infringing on another’s IP and may also fund enforcement actions against infringers to protect the insured’s own IP rights.
